Mami Kajiwara (Mami)
Bilingual
Mami received her 200-hour teaching certification in April 2016 and completed a 85-hour training program with a Registered Prenatal Yoga School (RPYT) in March 2017. She moved to Hawaii for college after she graduated from high school in Nara, Japan. Growing up in a small rural town surrounded by lush natural landscapes; she was drawn by the nature, cultures, and people of Hawaii and its similarities to her home.
Mami first practiced yoga regularly in college and went through a long break once she started her full-time (desk) job. Each sparing opportunity that she had practiced yoga led to a rejuvenated feeling that affected not only her body but also her mind and soul. Making one of the hardest decisions she has ever had to make, Mami decided to embark on a new career--teaching yoga--allowing her to be able to do what truly makes her happiest.
Using her personal experiences, Mami aims to teach yoga to both beginners and advanced yogi on how to pinpoint and release built-up discomforts (body, mind, and soul) that manifests through their daily lives. Understanding that similar to each individual’s unique personalities, there are characteristics of our body that no two are alike. Mami relishes the opportunity and is extremely grateful to everyone willing to allow her to guide them through their journey to connect with themselves as well as with others.
